Nikos Kanakis was born in Athens in February 1969. From his early years he dealt with his great love of painting and constructions. He attended free design courses at Plaka School and then attended the Center of Art and Culture, learning the art of Byzantine Hagiography. There he learned the principles of “abstraction” and “analysis of the form”, knowledge that would later help him in his own construction. He attended for two years classes of “form” and “free design” at the Athens School of Fine Arts.

She studied Graphic Design and Decoration at AKTO, and joined the advertising industry in 1993 as an illustrator.

In the advertising field he moved up as a Creative Director, while his creative works have been awarded at the Ermis Awards.

It has created “Greenmind Advertising” that operates in Environmental Growth and Corporate Social Responsibility.

He has got involved with Sculpture since 2006 by attending courses in the sculpture workshops of the Perantinus Museum with teachers, Costas Georgiou, Christos Riganas and Stavros Mavromatis.

There he was initiated into the art of marble and the knowledge of casting. He studied the “form” in relation to the light and he experienced the “magic” of the clay by applying to busts and naked creations. Nikos Kanakis’ sculpture works have been presented in collective exhibitions such as the Friends of the Perantinos Museum in Paros, in the Municipality of Rafina etc.

In the Piree Art & Culture Complex, he presented his first individual sculpture exhibition, titled ODYSSEE.
